Week 18: 26th & 28th January, 2026- Oral test and snow

 - We did our oral test on Monday but we could't do the written part because of snowy weather this Wednesday.
- We had the class online and we fisnished 4C with a video on the weekends.
- We revised units 3 & 4 on pages 62 and 63.
- We did the listening test practice on page 71.

Remember we don't have class on Monday 2nd February.
Work for Monday 2nd February: 
- Practice of grammarPresent continuos for future arrangements, present perfect or past simple and somethig, anything, nothing.
- Practice of vocabulary: Prepositions at, in, on, Right or wrong prepositions, Make or do and Shopping
- Reading exercises page 70.
- Entry checker 9 page 300, only 9C part: comparative adjectives.

Week 17: January 19th & 21st, 2026- Preparaing for the test next week

 - We corrected the photocopies of relatives and present perfect.
- We saw a video about chain stores.
- We saw vocabulary on buying.
- We practised the pronunciation of letters c and ch.
- We revised the use of just/yet and already with present perfect.
- We did a present perfect handout to match questions and answers.
- We saw the meanings of adjectives ending in -ed and -ing and practised.
- We saw the use of somebody, any/nobody...
- We practised the sounds /e/, /əʊ/, /ʌ/ and also /j/ /dʒ/

Homework: 
- Revise everything for next week's test.

Week 16: January 12th & 14th, 2026- Resuming classes

- We have revised the use of simple past and present perfect talking about the Christmas break.
- We revised the vocabulary of housework and how to use it with do/make.
- We revised the use of yet, already and just with present perfect.
- We talked about having the oral exam on 26 January and the written parts on 28th January and revised how evaluation works for us.
- We did a short exercise and sang The Man Who Sold the World, by Nirvana.
- We practised present perfect questions and answers in a speaking handout taht folded.
- We did a listening on how to be tidy when you're lazy.
- We did a grammar and vocabulary test and a listening one, for practice.
Homework:
- Exercise 5 page 59 (4B)
- Photocopy with revision for relatives and present perfect

- Oral exam: Monday 26th January 2026, following this timetable.
- Written parts (reading, grammar, vocabulary, liatening and writing): Wednesday 28th January 2026- 17.30 in our class

Week 15: 15th & 17th December, 2025

- We revised present continuous with future meaning.
-  We did Practical English 3, Pictures of you. We saw how to order, what menus look like, problems at a restaurant and the difficulties of the couple of Ben and Izzy.
- We saw interactive structures.
- We saw a short film on generosity, how to help others and how others help you. Pay it forward, watch from minute 4'39''.
-We did Entry checker 12, present perfect.
- We started unit 4, we saw vocabulary on housework and present perfect using yet, already and just. We did exercises 1 and 2 from 4A.
- We sang Happy Xtmas (War is Over) by John Lennon and Fairytale of New York, by the Pogues.
- We had something to eat and wished each other a wonderful time and new year.

Week 14: 10th December, 2025- Present continuous with future sense and defining relative clauses

 - We revised the present continuous to speak about future arrangements.
- We saw how to use relative pronouns with a reading on a TV quizz show.
- We practised the use of Who, Where, Which.
- We guessed and wrote definitions of different words.
- We practised the pronunciation of silent /e/
- We gave definitions for the words in a crossword.

Week 13: 1st & 3rd December, 2025

 - We practised going to for plans and predictions.
- We arranged plans for friends.
- We did a quiz on how organised we are.
- We saw the use of some prepositions and their verbs.
- We practised linking.
- We did a couple of listenings with the use of present continuous for future arrangements.
- We practised the structure.
- We saw how to write an informal email.
- We practised a bit of connectors.

Week 12: 24th & 26th November, 2025- Unit 3 and second part of our Film Festival!

- We practised past forms telling our weekends.
- We started unit 3A with airport vocabulary.
- We saw both pronunciations of letter /g/ as in baggage.
- We read the text on spending time at airports and completed the exercise.
- We did pre-watching activities of Lifted, a Pixar short film, saw the film and talked about it.
- We talked about different activities to pass time at long delays at airports.
- We did a listening on an airport delay.
- We saw how to use going to for plans and predictions.
Homework
- Write a summary of the story of the film on the photocopy you have.

Week 11: 17th & 19th November 2025- Film Festival!

- We did the Revise and Check of units 1 &2 with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and the understanding of a text and some people.

- We did the entry checkers 8 and 9a and b with the structures there is/are, there was/were and countable and uncountable nouns.

- We saw a short film belonging to this year's Film Festival Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times and did a handout about it.

Week 10: 10th & 12th November, 2025- One dark October evening

-  We revised past continuous with the communicative activity Who did it? to discover that Alejandra was the thief!
- We saw the beginning of the relationship between Hanna and Jamie in 2C.
- We saw time sequencers and connectors to organise the stories and to express reason, consequence and contrast.
- We saw verb phrases belonging to the story.
- We got to know the sad and the happy endings of their story.
- We got to know about the story of The Troubles in Ireland and the inspiration for the U2 song Where the Streets Have No Name.
- We did and exercise and sang the song.
- We revised both endings of the love story and completed the questions.
- We completed sentences in writing practising time sequencers and connectors.
- We practised pronunciation stress of two-syllable words.
- We did the exam skills of Reading and Listening on pages 38 and 39.

- We remembered how to describe the photo of the volcano and the text from the book.

- We described how and what kind of photos we post or not.

- We talked in pair about photos from our phones and our childhoods.
